tomorrow 源自古英语 to morgen 。 to 意为 at, morgen 意为 morn 或 morning 。按字面意义，两词合在一起就是 at the next moring 的意思。

嗣后， morgen 逐渐演变为 morrow ，最后 to 与 morrow 复合成 tomorrow 。 today 一词的情况也大致相同，古英语原作 to daeg ‘on ( this ) day’ , 以后渐渐演变复合为 today 这一形式。
