So we ran for four hours.

It’s just this iconic 3,000 foot high monolith.

When you see that thing for the first time,

People have done a handful of free climbs up El Cap

Just the sheer magnitude of blank rock on the thing,

Until Tommy CaIdwell came along,

The route that they think they have figured out

is comprised of 32 individual pitches.

Each pitch is its own challenge,like the stages of a race.

A pitch is a rope-length long, about 150 feet or so.
