的确二战前他们一家人就来美国了 但他的那些表兄弟
he did, with his family. but his cousins,
他们不得不留下 而且他们都被杀害了
they had to stay and they were all killed.
如果他留下 他也会被杀害的
if he’d stayed, he would’ve been killed.
所以我觉得 他是一个幸存者
so in my book, he’s a survivor.
即使只是他的表兄弟被杀了？
even though it was only his cousins that were killed?
这样的事也有可能发生在他或者我的身上
that could’ve happened to him, or to me,
如果是我或者你活了下来
if i’d been alive. or you.

of the suburban high school since i was a student.
我感觉这个纪录片将会很有价值

perhaps even enlightening endeavor,
能记录这些变化
to chronicle the changes.
能拉近与现实的距离
to get intimate with the realities
能拉近与今日在学校见到的孩子和父母的距离
kids and parents face in american schools today.
