Author’s comments:
An OST from the 1987 movie 倩女幽魂, in which a man fell for a soul in limbo. This song appears to be at the end of the story when day was about to break and the soul was finally freed to reincarnate but threatened by an imminent sunrise which could destroy her forever. One way or another the two were doomed to part and this song was sung at their final moment.
The song comes across as a prayer.
紅日 Literally: Red sun. The sun is red when it is low on the horizon, sunrise or sunset.
詩意 Decided to forgo a closer translation to “poetry-like” for an elegy given the plot of the movie and how it ended
