思君恩
令狐楚[1]
小院莺歌歇[2],
长门[3]蝶舞多。
眼看春又去,
翠辇[4]不曾过。
注释:
[1] 令狐楚:唐宪宗的宰相。《千家诗》注说:“此写宫妃望主之情也。言小苑之内,春暮而莺声已歇。长门之中,但观蝶舞耳。是一年之春又去,而君王之翠辇曾不一经过焉。则宫中之人伤春而望幸可知矣。”这是一首宫怨诗。作者身为宰相,不写君臣知遇之恩却写长门冷宫之怨,可见诗人的同情心。
[2] 莺歌歇:黄莺不再啼叫,指暮春时节。
[3] 长门:长门宫,汉武帝皇后阿娇失宠后居住的地方。
[4] 翠辇:指皇帝乘坐的车驾。

Linghu Chu
No orioles in the little garden sing,
But butterflies dance before the Long Gate.
In vain I see another fleeting spring;
No imperial cab passes by of late.

The poem “Imperial Favor Lost” is a five-part poem composed by the Tang Dynasty writer Ling Hu Chu. It is a poem about the loneliness of a relegated and abandoned court lady who spends her days in a deep curtain. The poem successfully uses the techniques of contrast and simile, and its style is bright but not dense, playful but not flamboyant, and shallow but not straightforward.
