Those people with intellectual giftedness thought that
since they were already familiar with the temper of clouds and lightnings,
they wouldn’t be confused any more,
and didn’t need to get to know themselves, the world, and other people.
They only needed to sit in breeze and have romance with tigers every day.

They were never in need of stairs.
They only had windows to hand everything over to their dreamland and graceful waves.
In all the pubs on this planet,
youth and freedom seemed to be taken for granted.
So while facing their scattered future,
they were just singing love songs but neglecting the tanks.

In a night when both science and beer were not able to appease them,
they lost the four seasons, and started their perplexed journey.
In all the pubs on this planet,
shouts from far away were forbidden to be heard.
All of a sudden, lights with overweening ambitions engulfed those darkened faces.

Author’s comments:
Pointed out by the band in an interview , “pub” here actually refers to “square”. Apparently this song is talking about Tiananmen Square incident in 1989. That’s why I’ve used past tense here.
