DAVID: Um, uh, life.

DAVID: My strivings to have some kind of spiritual base

were really, really strong all my life,

DAVID: Ziggy was for me a very simplistic thing:
它看来像个外星摇滚明星
what it seemed to be, an alien rockstar,

but other people reread him
并比我添加了更多有关Ziggy的信息
and contributed more information about Ziggy than I’d put into him.
艺人是不存在的
DAVID:

And that made it even more mysterious, and wonderful,and magic, you know?

I wanted to use art.

I wanted to use art in a different way in my life.

I wanted a sense that…
感受生活方式中 所有不了解的各方面
all the nooks and crannies that we don’t understand
我们日常生活的方式
about the way that we live through our day to day life,
我想向自己呈现出来，你知道吗？
and I wanted that shown to me, you know?
不用非常清晰，而是以某种实质呈现
Not in great clarity, but some kind of physical manifestation
呈现出这些就是 生活中令你悲伤或欣喜的领域
of these are the areas of life that are causing you grief,or euphoria,
而你并不真正了解原因
and you don’t really know why.
为何有一天你醒来，有棵橡树
Why is it that you wake up one day,and an oak tree,
被阳光以某种方式照洒
hit by the light in a certain way,
会令你产生这些非凡的感觉
will produce these extraordinary feelings of glee,
会令你感到欢欣和享受？
and absolute enjoyment,
为活着而感到喜悦
exhilaration at actually being alive.
然后另一天你醒来
Another day, you can wake up
同一棵树却看来像 费里德里希所画的死亡象征
and that same tree will seem like some
Caspar David Friedrich symbolic death, you know?
它变得黑暗、消极和可怕
And it will be dark and negative and awful, you know?
而那就是 为何会发生这些事的感觉
And it’s that sense of why those things happen?
为何事情不是每天都一样？
Why aren’t things the same every single day
