There was this month where Sean was like,

“I have no more rabbits.”

And, really, the only option I could see

was getting on a plane to America

and going and talking to, you know, one of our largest investors

and saying to them,

is we’d like you to increase your investment by 50%

and we’d like you to put it in in the next two weeks.

Thankfully, they were yet again very supportive

and came through to us.
那让整个进程多持续了好几个月
And that kept the whole thing moving forward
直到我们搞定
for more months until we wrapped up

all the legal work, all the bank documents
这才终于拿到了最后一笔款项
that finally got the final monies flowing through to us.

And then it was all about pushing to get more

painting done, week by week.

That was putting a lot of pressure on us

and that kind of increased when I had to go to Britain

to do the sound and the music

and left Dorota on her own in Poland

to continue supervising the production.

That was very disappointing for me.

He was a hero and inspiration to me

so to have missed the recording and mixing
让我非常难受
was really heartbreaking.
但也别无选择 因为在制♥作♥的那一阶段
But there was no choice because at that point in the production,
我们正在最紧张的一步
we were at our most intensive stage.
我们让大家一周工作五 六 七天
We had people working five, six, seven days a week.
这完全取决于画师
It was really up to the painters
每周能画多少
how much they painted per week,
他们画得越多 拿的钱也越多
and the more they painted, the more they got paid,
我们明显有种既得利益
and obviously we had a vested interest
想让他们在工作室待得越久越好
in trying to keep them there as long as possible.

And one of the things that we would do

is that one of us would cook for the entire crew

and we’d post what we were cooking on a Friday night

We also provided breakfast in the morning

to try and get painters to start work earlier,
不过一些画师往往更喜欢通宵作画
but some painters always preferred to work during the nights.

Like Vincent, I like the night time,
这样很有用
which was very useful
因为每晚我都会为第二天做好规划
as each night I had to do scheduling for the next day.
因为在白天有很多事要审核批准
Because in the day time, there was too many approvals to do.
哪位动画师绘制哪一镜的选择
Deciding which animator did which shot
会在很大程度上影响到影片的质量
was incredibly important to the quality of the film.
工作室到晚上就变了样
The studio was different by night.
更加宁静 而且有几位画师也是夜猫子
Much calmer and there were few painters who were also night owls,
这样我就能稍事休息 检查一下作品
so I could take a break and review the work
从更深入的角度探讨那几镜
and discuss those shots in a more in-depth way.
但是即便是这么长的工时
But even with the long days,
我们也知道绝对赶不上九月的截止时间
we knew that we weren’t going to meet our September deadline,
已经安排好要回家的很多画师
and a lot of our painters who had arranged their return home
也开始离开了
were starting to leave.
压力一周比一周大
The pressure just went up increasingly every week.
因为从一方面来说
Because on one hand we were still working

very hard and very intense.

The deadline was so close.
从另一方面来说
And on the other hand,

there were these people leaving every day and every week.

We would have a farewell party at least once a week

11月30日 我们拆除了所有的绘画工作台
By November 30th, we dismantled all the painting stations,
经过四年难忘的时光 也是时候前进了
and it was time to move after four memorable years.

and most importantly painted the Loving Vincent film.
五年来我们的生活都
Our life was revolving for five years
紧紧围绕着《至爱梵高》
around Loving Vincent.
我们原本想着等到结束以后
And we were expecting that we’re gonna have
我们会感到无比轻松
this incredible sense of relief
以及巨大的成就感
and achievement after we finished.
不过事实上大不相同
But it was quite different actually
因为我们在三月完工
because we finished in March
但我们得等到世界首映
and we had to wait till the world premiere
计划是六月在安纳西举办
that was planned for June in Annecy.
可想而知 这三个月非常艰难
So yeah, these three months were really difficult.
