太浅 Literally: too shallow. I took it as too superficial, keeping the conversation light

消化 Literally: to digest. I took it as contemplation, reflection

说天 This could have been 談天 which would have been more readily understood as chitchatting (thank you recherche for the correction). The completely changed my initial interpretation and it now brings a new hint of flirtation to the line
