(Rhythm of the Rain) •Album: Aiyo, Not Bad
Rhythm of the Rain
Dragonflies linger on the bamboo fence
A small forest fills the glass bottles
Vibrantly young and greenThe refracted light and shadow of the shutters
Looks like a thoughtful expression
And you lower your head and open the letter
Wanting to know things about meMoss in focus* Windchimes below eaves Rock what once was
Memories are rows of scenery that cannot be edited
Love remains youngAnd I hear the sound of rain
Remembering you mouthing about love
Happiness can also be very quiet
My effort has been cautiousFinally, I hear the sound of rain
So my world is roused
I fear emotions reddening my eyes
Unwilling tears, translucent on each other’s shoulderThe refracted light and shadow of the shutters
Looks like a thoughtful expression
And you lower your head and open the letter
Wanting to know things about meLove is crossing* Fate’s not stopping* Who is worried
The raindrops on the windowsill knock gently on sadness
Painfully beautiful, and movingAnd I hear the sound of rain
Remembering you mouthing about love
Happiness can also be very quiet
My effort has been cautiousFinally, I hear the sound of rain
So my world is roused
I find you’re always very near
Silently accompanying me
Your attitude determinedThe sound of rain

Author’s comments:
*入镜 is literally “into the mirror” but often refers to when something enters the range of a camera, so I chose to phrase it as “into focus” like when a camera focuses on something
*过境 refers to crossing a border, but I kept it to “crossing” to try to preserve the original splicing of the lyrics
*缘分 is specifically the fate of two people to meet, but I simplified it to “fate”
