人类手的
The frameworks of bones have been the same
骨骼架构就跟 蝙蝠的翅膀
in the hand of a man, wing of a bat,
海豚的鳍 马的腿一样
fin of a porpoise and leg of a horse
这立刻就能解释他们
At once explain themselves on the theory of descent
一代代缓慢的进化
with slow and slight successive…
思考一个纷繁复杂的系统很有趣
It is interesting to contemplate an entangled bank,
这个系统有着各种现象
Clothed with many plants of many kinds,
鸟儿在树上歌♥唱
with birds singing on the bushes,
无数的昆虫轻快地掠过
with various insects flitting about
虫子在潮湿的地方爬行
And with worms crawling through the damp earth
这些被精巧设计的物种
And to reflect that these elaborately constructed forms,
互不相同
So different from each other and dependent upon each other
又复杂地相互依赖
in so complex a manner,
我们周围的世界都被自然法则统治着
have all been produced by laws acting around us.
