广岛（2005）

周围一片漆黑
First things l saw,was pitch dark.
然后，我感觉到有几个士兵在我头顶的地方清理废墟
Then l sensed there were several soldiers above my head,moving the debris.
最后一个士兵把我刨了出来
And finally one soldier dug me out.
我只记得那士兵抱紧我
All l remember,was the soldier clutched me,in his arms,
穿过一个又一个火堆
weaving through the fires,between the fires.
我们唯一能够逃生的地方，就是学校后面的河川
The only place we were able to escape it was the river that runs behind our school.
离强光大约两英里外的车站附近
Near the station,about two miles from the flash,
藤井辉子以为是电车上的电缆短路
Teruko Fujii thought her tram had short.circuited on the overhead cables,
她以为这全是自己的错
and that the whole thing was her fault.
我以为是我导致了灾难的发生
l thought that l’d caused some kind of disaster.
弄坏了电车，并酿成这次意外
l thought l’d broken the tram and done something terrible!
我又想，那是不是爆♥炸♥？
And then l thought,is it a bomb?
之后，我才意识到，这不是我造成的
That was when l realised it wasn’t me who’d caused all this trouble.
起初我以为只有站台这边受影响
First l thought only the station area was affected.
然后我看到受伤的人向我走来
Then l saw people walking towards me with injuries,
他们的身上挂着脱落的皮肤
and skin hanging from them.
大家都想，也许只要走到那边就会安全
Everybody thought,perhaps if l go over there,l could be saved.
例如西边的人会以为东边安全
People to the west thought the east might be better.
人们从四面八方而来，死寂的沉默
People were going in every direction,in total silence.
在这场大灾难中却出现了一个奇迹
Amid all the destruction,there was at least one miracle.
八岁的种森贵史被救了他的士兵抱着
Eight.year.old Takashi Tanemori was carried
穿过这座燃烧的城市
through the burning city by the soldier who rescued him.
最终来到河边
At last,the soldier reached the river,
人群中，小男孩听到熟悉的声音
and from the crowds,the little boy heard a familiar voice.

Somehow my father spotted me!

l guess he called my name,and maybe l responded,
然后我说，那是我爸爸
and l said,that’s my daddy!

And then he stood straight to the soldiers,

and then he bowed many,many times to the soldiers,said,thank you!
称他是救世主
You are saviour!

Later on,after we were flying back,

conversation started about,

l though it was strange.

But it was like it had no face.

lt was black.

The area around the eyes had swollen up,it had no nose,
下半部居然是一张嘴
the lower half of the face was just mouth!
他看起来很吓人
lt was frightening.
作为医生
As a doctor,
我的第一反应就是给他把脉
the first thing you do is take a pulse.
但当我握住他的手时，发现他没有皮肤
But when l took his hand,there was no skin.
我不知道何处下手
There was nowhere l could hold.
我只得站起来说，请您振作起来
So l stood up,saying,please,pull yourself together,
然后，我就在他身边走着
and walked around him.

This person gave a small shudder,and then he stopped moving.
这就死了
He had died.
他走了三公里，死在这地方
He had fled three kilometres,and then he died there.

That man was the first fatality
我看到的第一个受害者
caused by the bomb,that l saw.

Army recruit,Shigeru Terasawa,

had been stationed seven miles from the centre of the blast.

His unit was sent to help survivors,

but they soon faced a terrible conflict,

they would die straight away.

And so l didn’t give them any.

A lot of people died.
现在回顾此事
Now,looking back,
我希望我给他们喝水
l wish l had given them water.
因为烧伤，流血和高温
Burned,and bleeding,in the intense heat,
人们都尽力寻找水源
people were desperate to find any water they could.
他们走到河流，水池和水塘
They fled to the rivers,to pools,and reservoirs.
护士土井也是其中之一
Among them,nurse Kinuko.
我知道医院后面有一个水池
l knew there was a pool of water,in the back yard of the hospital.
那里早就挤满了人
Lots of people had already got into the pool.
越来越多人从别人身上挤过去
More people had jumped on top of them.
挤在下面的人就被淹死了
The people underneath drowned.
这一幕深刻我脑中
This is one scene l can never forget.
晚上亦会梦到
l still dream about it.
突然降临了奇怪的恩泽
Then came a strange deliverance.
黑色的雨水从这座燃烧的城市上空降下来
Dark raindrops began to fall from the clouds above the burning city.
我们张着嘴喝
We opened our mouths,and drank it.
大家的喉咙都干得很
Our throats were parched,
但喝雨水并不容易
but it was difficult to capture the rain into our mouths.
灰尘和烟雾染黑了雨水
The rain had been made black by ash and smoke
它们被吸进了蘑菇形的雨云内
which had been sucked into the rising mushroom cloud.
当灰尘与上空又冷又湿的空气混合
When these ashes mixed with cool,humid air in the upper atmosphere,
就会形成黑色的雨水
they formed thick,black raindrops,
落回到这个城市
and fell back down on to the city.
豆大的雨水落到身上，定会损害到皮肤
The drops of rain were big enough to hurt,when they hit your skin.
绝对称得上瓢泼大雨
lt descended in a torrent.
黑色的液体随雨水流动
Black fluid flowed where the rain fell.
下的雨是黑色的液体
lt was raining black fluid.
