Eating Fried Chicken at People’s Square
Lately you’ve gotten, so cold.
It makes me feel so lost and alone,
It’s not like I wanted, much more,
I just wanted our love to go on
Now you don’t answer, my calls,
Without even telling me why
It’s not like I, don’t know
That sometimes true love can hurt so
I just keep praying you’re late…oh no,But here I am I’m eating chicken at People’s Square
And where are you right now my love again, I don’t know where
Maybe you just can’t decide, if you will come
I’m just so sick and tired of this, I think we’re done.
Once again I eat fried chicken, at People’s Square
And where are you again my love, I don’t know whereI still remember, you said,
You said that you’d always, love me,
All that I wanted, was you
I thought our love would always be true.
Lately you drifted, away
I just didn’t know what to do
It’s not like I, didn’t know
I really just couldn’t believe
It’s not like I, didn’t cry, I just didn’t seeBut here I am I’m eating Chicken at People’s Square
And where are you right now? Again, I don’t know where.
Maybe once again you left me here, so all alone
I think I’ll get myself a box, and take this home.
And once again I eat fried chicken, at People’s Square
And where are you I sigh my love, I don’t know whereIt’s not like I, couldn’t tell,
That this time was really the end,
It’s not like I, didn’t try. Oh no –I’ll post a photo of my chicken, that you didn’t share,
And see who comments on my page, who really cares.
I’m eating chicken once again, I’m all alone,
I don’t need the likes of you, to walk me home.
I’ll make a call to all my friends, who treat me fair,
We’ll eat fried chicken then go dancing everywhere.

I enjoyed hearing this on “Love of Aurora” and looked this up – I am sorry I can not translate this directly, as I do not speak Chinese, but I used the first version to create a more western version. I hope you can enjoy it. Maybe you will post an English version online? For a US version, we might need to say “I’m in Time’s Square” vs “In People’s Square”.

I’m eating fried chicken at People’s Square
You’ve gotten so cold recently
It really makes me feel lost
Actually, I didn’t expect too much
Just that you can love me like before
But you even dodge all our dates
Without ever saying why
It’s not that I don’t know
That for love you need to suffer
It’s not that I haven’t prayed
(That you’re just late)I’m eating fried chicken at People’s Square
And where are you right now?
Maybe you’re just “sounding east and attacking west”*
But weariness has gotten me too lazy to doubt
I’m eating fried chicken at People’s Square
And where are you right now?

*”sheng dong, ji xi” – “feigning eastward, attacking westward.” Hinting at doing one thing to hide that you are doing another.
