This song can be seen as either reminiscing over a break up, or pondering over death. My dad vouches for the first, my mom, the latter.
To be honest, the title has a literal translation of: “I wish people can last long” which sounds weird so I tweaked it but the meaning of the song should be there.
Also, there’s a mistake in the Chinese lyrics provided. The first word “這” is wrong, it should be “借” for borrow.
