1.Refers to the coming-of-age ceremonies having ever been held in Beijing City for 18-year-old senior high school students at grade 3, during which each participant walked through a gate made from leaves.

Submitter’s comments:
This is a campus folk song written by the former folk singer Wang Ze in the autumn of 1994, when she was 16, and first performed and recorded by Wang and three of her classmates two years later, when they had just graduated from high school.
According to her biography, the song has ever been widely considered as a work of a college student, though she was not yet at that time.
Like the majority of the campus folk singers during the ”Folk Scene”, all of these original performers of the song, including Wang, have already given up their respective career of singing and faded out from public sight for many years, for they probably regarded it as just a hobby instead of an occupation. Fortunately, the song is not forgotten with them.
