干戈[2]未定欲何之[3]？
一事无成两鬓丝[4]。
踪迹[5]大纲[6]王粲[7]传，
情怀[8]小样[9]杜陵诗[10]。
鹡鸰[11]音断[12]人千里，
乌鹊巢寒月一枝。
安得中山千日酒[13]，
酩[14]然直到太平时。

[1] 王中，宋末诗人。《千家诗》注说：“言干戈不定无处可避，一事无成人已老也。王粲当汉末赋诗感怀，杜甫以唐乱行吟自遣。予之心迹，迨大同而小异也。鹡鸰知有兄弟患难，哀鸣以相救；子有兄弟则千里无音。乌鹊南飞而无枝可依，子亦近似。安得沽中山仙人酿千日之酒，使人一饮而醉至太平时方醒乎！”诗人生于宋末战乱之时，向往太平生活，这是古代知识分子的心声。

Where can I go when spears and shields make an array?
Nothing have I achieved when my hair’s turning grey.
Like a talented writer, I roam here and there,
And sympathetic, I fill my verse with care.
No letter comes from brothers far away from me;
The crow cold with moonlight finds no nest on the tree.
Where is the wine to lull to sleep a thousand days?
I will not wake up, till peace sheds on earth its rays.
《干戈》是南宋诗人王中创作的一首七言律诗。该诗首联叙战乱给人们带来的痛苦和伤害；颔联将自己同王粲以及王粲所处的时期相比，表达了同王粲一样的苦闷心情；颈联以比喻的手法写自己的具体处境；尾联叙述自己的愿望。
该诗运用大量典故，情调压抑沉痛，音韵上亦以拗句为多，犹如断续哽咽，将干戈未定之害，骨肉分离之悲，刻骨铭心之痛，写得入木三分，深沉地表达了前路茫茫、生不逢时的愤激情怀。
The poem is a seven-line poem written by Wang Zhong, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty. The first couplet of the poem describes the pain and harm caused by war and chaos; the first couplet compares himself with Wang Ch’ung and the period he lived in, expressing the same bitterness as Wang Ch’ung; the neck couplet uses metaphor to write about his specific situation; the last couplet describes his wish.
The poem uses a lot of allusions, the mood is depressing and sorrowful, and the rhyme is mostly in the form of arguments, as if choking on intermittent lines, expressing the harm of the unsettled war, the sorrow of the separation of flesh and bones, and the pain of inscription on the bones.
